Crafty New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions- you either love ‘em, or you hate ‘em!
I’m personally not a big fan because they’re often either too hard to attain, or to hard to measure. I’ve also given up on the “loose 10kg” type goals, and the “write in my blog every day” type goals, because they just don’t happen. Anything that involves doing something every day, and not really slipping up is a bit too hard for me, because I don’t know what sort of suprises the year will involve.
So instead of traditional new years resolutions, I’m making a few tangiable goals which I can categorize into a few different areas on my life. Of course, one of these areas is the CRAFTY area of my life, and so I thought I’d share with you here what my crafty goals for 2012:
- Try five NEW crafts. (I’m not sure what these will be yet, but I’m thinking I definitely like to have a go at both some clay work, and crochet…)
- Finish scrapbooking our Europe holiday, and at least journal/plan out the Great Ocean Road holiday scrapbook.
- Finish the cot quilt, and start/finish the floor mat for baby Carbis.
- Make handmade gifts for each family birthday in 2012.
- Write another crafty ebook. Release at the end of 2012.
When I look at these goals I nod my head. “Yes” I think, “I can do all these things, and I will feel accomplished if I do”.
It’s the perfect mix between not having so much that you can’t achieve it, and having enough so you actually feel like you’ve accomplishsed something.
So now that I HAVE my goals, I need to stick them up somewhere awesome in my craft room so I don’t forget them. Do you have some craft related goals for 2012? If you do, I’d love for you to share them in the linky below!

For me, crafty pursuits are taking more and more of a backseat but I don’t mind that. I need a break. Will just do crafty stuff when I feel like it
Think 2012 will be a big year- thinking of making some huge changes…but we’ll have to see how everything pans out
I’d love to write an e-book but not sure where to start with the publishing side of things. If you have any tips or advice, feel free to share. Might have to add it to my resolutions…
Good luck with your crafty resolutions…sounds like a lot to me! Totally hope you achieve them and look forward to reading about them and seeing your creative work in 2012. Happy New Year xx

Hey Cathy,
I think it’s important to have your goals in perspective. Hope your changes go well, and that you’re able to fit in at least a little bit of time for crafting!
I might share some tips in an upcoming blog post about how I make ebooks- it is really pretty simple I think.
Thanks for stopping by,
Talia
Hey Cathy,
I have no idea on how you would go about publishing an e-book, but it sounds exciting! And I can’t wait to read about your huge changes!
That is actually one of my goals for 2012- to stay on top of my reader so I can keep up with everyone!
I’ll be posting about my goals tomorrow linking up here.

I am not crafty but I love blogging! So this year we are expanding our blog and growing it so that others can connect with us, and we can learn from other bloggers – my crafty new years resolution is to find my blogging voice!
Love your crafty ideas for 2012!
Cheers
Lisa
