Last Minute Handmade Gift Ideas

It is 10 days till Christmas!

Are you still trying to think of some gifts for those hard to buy for relatives and friends? I thought I would share a few gifts ideas with you.

Now, I had planned to show you what gifts I had made this week, but they are all sitting in a pile half finished as school holiday madness has taken over and my time with the sewing machine has taken a back seat. I will be finishing them over the next few days (I mean I have to finish them as it is ONLY 10 DAYS til Christmas) and when I do I will post some pictures to the Facebook Page.

Since I don’t have any completed projects to show you, I thought I would show you some pins of similar items that I am making (Have I told you that I love Pinterest yet???)

I have cut fabric to make my MIL an apron similar to this:

I am using a pattern out of the Make it Perfect  book to make my Grandmother a pair of slipper that look a little like these:

I am making a few of these:

I also have some cute linen fabric set out to make this. To go with some Bath Salts and Body Scrubs that I made a few weeks back.

Are you making Christmas gifts this year?

I am finding it a lot more pleasant than trawling the shops for gifts. And these ones I have actually put thought and effort into. I really hope they appreciate it. I know some people treat handmade gifts with some disdain as they see it as the cheap option, but really a lot of my time and energy has gone into making each gift for the person especially. And I don’t know about you, but my craft supplies are hardly cheap, just as my husband…

  1. I love handmade presents. I did it last year, but just cant muster the energy this year. I might try and make an oven mitt thingy for my MIL, but that’s about it. Ooh, I just remembered your fabric knotted bead necklace idea. Maybe I could do that?
