So the first annual And Sew We Craft Retreat is THIS WEEKEND and sadly I won’t be able to attend BUT I will be trying my hardest to have my own craft retreat weekend here at home (with my kids).
And I thought I would share some of the things I’m doing in the lead up to the weekend to make sure I can actually have my of ‘fake retreat’ as well as what my plans are for this weekend.
It’s really all about PLANNING.
So far I have:
Tidied up my sewing area
Planned meals for the kids over the weekend that are simple and I know they will be eaten
Written down a rough outline of what projects I want to accomplish.
The projects are:
Joining Tic Tac Toe blocks from last years bee and my Wanta Fanta blocks for this year bee,
Making a slipcover for my ikea chair and
Making some progress on my crochet blankets.
But the other thing that I am remembering is that I am at home with my kids and I KNOW that I will be interrupted BUT I’m going in with that expectation and I’ll be spending the next few days planning things that they can do with me.
I’m also going to be re-reading my copy of The Creative Retreat Workbook by Jennie Moraitis of Little Girl Designs to refresh myself on her tips.
If you don’t have the workbook I can thoroughly recommend it. You might also like to check out her post ‘A Quick Start Guide To Creative Retreats‘.
So what do you think? Will you join me for #fakeaswcretreat this weekend?
