I feel it is my creative duty to buy up and enjoy the beautiful origami paper available in Japan, especially the cheap bulk packs from Daiso! Today I’m sharing a quick and easy origami paper bunting that is a versatile decoration - parties, kids’ bedrooms, cheering up your desk or creative space, and more!
- baker’s twine or string - your desired length
- origami paper - an odd number is more aesthetically pleasing
- scissors
- gluestick
1. Fold your origami paper on the diagonal.
2. Cut out a triangle shape - eyeball or measured!
3. Unfold and add glue along the crease, as well as the bottom point of the triangle.
4. Place the paper at the halfway point of the string and fold in half, catching the string in the crease. Smooth the paper down making sure the glue is sticking.
5. Repeat until your twine is full of beautiful origami paper bunting triangles, leaving about 1/4″ or 0.5cm between each paper triangle! Make sure you have enough string on each end to tie or tape up.
6. Hang up and enjoy!
Next week I will share a different bunting option using the same pretty origami paper!

Most definitely! Just trim down to 15cm square, or bigger for bigger triangles!
