Those quick ideas

Do you ever see a problem and know you have the ability to make something to fix it? Sometimes it never happens but then every now and again it all falls into place and you just have the right equipment and the right amount of time.

That happened this past weekend. Though the project has stalled since it’s now week days and I don’t have time or thought for much! Caiden was having a bit of problems with his lego. I wanted him to pack all the little stray bits up from his floor and he kept insisting he was playing with it all. I knew there had to be an easier way for him to keep his lego than in the bag we have been. Without changing the status quo too much.

Then an idea struck. I remembered pinning an idea a couple of years ago now for a toy bag that is circular. It pulls out flat and then when they’re done pulls up and out of the way in one easy move! Wouldn’t that be awesome?

But I didn’t want to waste my good fabrics on something that was possibly not going to work. Then I remembered that somewhere in the linen cupboard was a sheet that was ripped but I was keeping because the fabric might be useful. Off I ran. You can imagine it can’t you? I got really excited that I could make this work!

So very roughly I found a centre point in the double folded fabric. and measure around from that 23inches or there abouts. It was kinda the centre. I then pinned around that distance and cut a circle. You can tell how perfect I was being?

I then sewed around the edge leaving a gap. Turned it through and then sewed roughly 1.5 inches in from the edge the whole way around. Then I threaded in the cord I borrowed from James and that’s about where I stopped. I will need to thread another cord in from the other direction as well as it’s bunching too much on one side and not the other but the idea is actually sound. I look forward to him using it *fingers crossed*

Sorry for the bad photos the light wasn’t good over the weekend when trying to take photos at night. I need to time projects better!

Happy Stitching,
Caitlin
