This week it’s hand sewing week at And Sew We Craft! We’re talking embroidery, cross stitching, applique… A needle and thread and a few finger calluses is what we’re about!
I have this need to do little cross stitch kits. Well, a more accurate way to put it would be to collect them. If a crafting magazine comes with a free little kit, I’ll buy it! See a sweet little kit at the checkout while buying some craft supplies? Add it to my pile of purchases, please! When we moved to Japan, I did get ruthless and cull down to just a few that I really wanted to do. Except my other problem is that it takes me ages to actually do them. The pansy for example? I bought it in 2005. Yep, that’s pretty much 8 years old and still not finished.
The rest of these aren’t so old. The adorable little Royal Guard was sold by my local newsagent (originally from the CrossStitcher magazine… yes, I had a naughty newsagent!) and is only about 18 months old. Still in its packet though…
This sweet little Christmas cross stitch of a robin and mouse was from the same newsagent - originally from The World Of Cross Stitching I think - and I have grand plans of actually making it for the Christmas card frame and giving it to someone… maybe this year?! Later this week I’ll be sharing how I store them for easy travelling and finally making them.

Good to see I’m not the only one with the problem of starting something and taking ages to finish it…
I am hoping to get at least one of my kits finished this week.

the bane of my life. I vowed to make 2013 the year of finishing things off. Projects and books. And I did finish up a few loose ends.
Yet as we speak I am finishing up a baby jumper, 80% through a jumper for me (Will I finish before winter ends!), a sock, a godzilla cross-stitch. Plus I have stash for at least 8 other projects in the cupboard.
But when I talk to my crafty friends, everyone is in the same boat, so I don’t get too stressed about it!

mmmmm I don’t have many work in progress and I have LOTS of need to actually start to become ‘in progress’ projects lol. I have so many patterns and ideas. Part the reason why I’m making them and reviewing them on my blog. Gives me a reason to start and finish!
