Christmas in July : Stitched Pot Holders

This past couple of months, I’ve been busy making little Christmas goodies to send to a swap partner.

One way to be organised for Christmas in July, is to participate in a swap. You have a mailing deadline for when to finish your Christmas in July projects and you know that you will receive some Christmas in July parcels yourself. It’s a win, win!

I stitched up this little snowman and reindeer from a pattern I’d found in an old craft magazine. They’re super cute and were meant to be Christmas tree decorations.

I decided to change it up a little and made them into pot holders.

They were stitched in Aurifil 12wt cotton. They’ve been quilted with straight lines using Aurifil 50wt red cotton along the red border.

I’m pleased with how they turned out and I have a couple more stitcheries in progress, to make for myself… for December.

I'm a mum of 2 little ones and wife to a very patient man. I love to blog, quilt and craft. Sometimes I even like to cook, clean and bake... but that mood disappears almost as suddenly as it arrrives. Look out for my designs in Australian publications.
