Crochet for Beginners- Part 1

I still count myself as a beginner crocheter in many ways.

I can now chain like there is no tomorrow and simple stripe blankets and dish cloths are my forte but now I can also include crocheting in the round into my skills set and I can read a crochet pattern now without going cross-eyed.

What I found that worked for me was many many You Tube videos and just trying and trying again. It took me a while to feel comfortable crocheting but now I find it really calming and dare I say it, fun.

So I wanted to share some You Tube videos that really helped me out when I was starting.

I especially like it in this video when she said ‘You Can Do It and if you think you can’t you’re giving up too easy’

And she is right, so much of crochet IS learning the muscle memory. Once you’ve got that down pat, crochet IS really easy.

And if you are looking for more crochet videos than the Annie Craft Videos is a really great channel that is full of not only crochet videos but knitting, sewing and many others.

So now that you have watched those video’s, here are some beginner projects that you might like to try:

And did you know that’s I’ve NEVER made a granny square? So I need to do something about that.
