Weekend Stacks: New Favourite Books

I’m rather fussy about what books I’ll spend my money on, which is why it’s rare that I have a post like this in which I share some books I’ve bought!

QuiltCon quilt books

The Modern Medallion Workbook: 11 Quilt Projects to Make, Mix & Match by Janice Zeller Ryan and Beth Vassalo // This book has such a wide variety of techniques to learn from! So inspiring to also see the range of styles and aesthetics that can be used to make a medallion quilt. Even if you don’t want to make a whole medallion quilt, the patterns could easily be made on their own.

Patchwork Essentials: The Half-Square Triangle: Foolproof Patterns and Simple Techniques from Basic Blocks by Jeni Baker // Jeni was one of the first quilt bloggers I found, and quickly fell in love with her style. I also love HSTs, so that one was a no-brainer purchase!

The Appliqué Book: Traditional Techniques, Modern Style - 16 Quilt Projects by Casey York // I love Casey’s style of applique by incorporating embroidery. I definitely hope this book will inspire me to do more of it!

Quilting From Every Angle: 16 Geometric Designs by Nancy Purvis // Nancy’s quilts were amongst my top favourites shown at QuiltCon, and many are from this book. So I just had to get it, and ohhhh, the book itself is worth the purchase! Such a beautifully presented and styled book! I could look at it for hours… oh wait, I already have, ha!
