Mothers Day Colouring
My daughter loves, loves, LOVES to colour. I just have to give her some paper, pencils or crayons and she is happy for a long time.
Every day she asks me to print some colouring pages from the computer.
We decide on a theme and do a Google image search. Most of the time, we search for colouring pages of Barbie, or fairies or unicorns or cupcakes…. all the things which a 5 year old girl loves.
With Mother’s Day approaching (12 May 2013), we decided to look for Mother’s Day colouring pages. She’s told me that when she grows up, she wants to “be a mummy and do sewing on the machine and make quilts and cook cakes” … serious heart melting moment for me.
There are probably tonnes of Mothers Day colouring images and kids crafts available online, but one site which we seem to visit often is hellokids.com. It has a great collection of pages with diverse themes. Even mandala’s. I love mandala’s - they make beautiful stitcheries.
We’ve printed a selection of Mothers Day cards and Mothers Day certificates - my son prefers the certificates because they don’t have as much colouring to do - plus he can write.

They’re both feeling super creative and the pencils, and glitter and stickers are out… and honestly, I couldn’t be more pleased.
Obviously, I can’t keep all of the cards and pictures, so we’ll give them out to grandmothers, aunts and neighbours (who are mums).
Do your children love to colour in?
Do you have any websites you can recommend to print up pages?
I'm a mum of 2 little ones and wife to a very patient man. I love to blog, quilt and craft. Sometimes I even like to cook, clean and bake... but that mood disappears almost as suddenly as it arrrives. Look out for my designs in Australian publications.
