In the last few weeks of our holiday I started to get excited about the scrapbooking that would await me with the birth of a new baby at the end of the year. And then I had a bit of a reality check. You see, I already have a child. He’s 17 1/2 months old, and as of today I have only scrapbooked the first month of his life. Oh the shame! What kind of scrapbooker AM I?! For some reason things just got away with me, and that’s all I’d done.

I started brainstorming how I might manage scrapbooking 1 1/2 years of life… quickly; and how on earth I would keep up with scrapbooking two little lives full of change and ”firsts” and adventures. And this is disregarding all the holiday photos still sitting on the computer waiting to be transformed into a lovely memory album.

Anyway, I thought about it long and hard, and despite my initial fear of Project Life a few years ago, I decided that this style would be the easiest, most complication-free way to document my children’s lives. It is a style of scrapbooking that is certainly not for everyone, but if you’ve been wondering how you might adapt project life to your own scrapbooking projects, then you might like to follow along with my progress! I‘ll be sharing a video of my progress once a fortnight (that’s the plan at least!!), and hopefully by the time this new baby comes in November (December?!) Lior’s album will be complete!

Album Prep

I am not often a big scrapbooking planner, but I feel like seeing as I am trying new things like Project Life, I could try a new idea like organisation as well!

As far as I see it I have two options for this album - I can either just use the project life photo protectors and not use any other “project life” structure (this is what I do for my travel scrapbooks), or use a more traditional double page spread dedicated to each week. I have decided that am going to use the the traditional double page spread for this album, as it’s an easy way to record the everyday memories and photos that may not fit with any other “theme” pages.

I’m also probably not going to use “official” Project Life cards and instead use a selection of my favourite papers cut to size, and other embellishments.

What YOU can expect here on the blog

Once a fortnight I’ll share with you a video of me scrapbooking, explaining a few techniques, products, and ideas that I’m using.

If you have any questions, post them in the comments and I’ll answer them the next fortnight!
