So you might have heard the news that I’m having a baby. She’s due in a couple of weeks, and all of a sudden I have my sewing mojo happening! I was a busy bee last week, have a go at a few different things, starting with a pile of burp cloths. I made burp cloths when I had Riley, and while the rounded shape was great to use (and sew), I was plain lazy this time, and just stuck with straight edges.
I purchased a towel from Kmart My mum purchased a towel from Kmart (it was $A10 for a 1mx1.8m towel, toweling from Spotlight was $A19.90 for 1mx2.4m), and I bought the micro-fleece a couple of weeks before.
The most time-consuming part of this job was cutting and pinning the fabric (and of course having to stand up from sewing every few minutes, baby bumps are not conducive to comfortable sitting for long periods of time!), once I started sewing I plowed through a pile of 15 in an hour, including turning, ironing and top stitching. Even husband likes the new cloths!
