Making a mini quilt is a great way to learn, practice and perfect a new skill. I’ve made a few of these little quilts in the past few months when practicing my applique.

Sadly though, they’ve just sat in a box on my shelf… waiting to be hung up in the new house. If you read my Samelia’s Mum blog, you’ll have seen the new house updates.

I’ve wanted to hang something on the empty wall behind my sewing machine, for a while now… yet I didn’t know what. It’s a temporary house and whatever was going to be hung would have to be removed soon. So I thought, what about my little quilts???

I got hubby to pick up some of those velcro 3M hanging things when he was at Bunnings and created my own Happy Workspace, with my little quilts.

Create a happy workspace with your own work

I do love a dotty binding, don’t I?

Do you have a happy workspace?

What do you have hanging near your machine, to inspire you?

I'm a mum of 2 little ones and wife to a very patient man. I love to blog, quilt and craft. Sometimes I even like to cook, clean and bake... but that mood disappears almost as suddenly as it arrrives. Look out for my designs in Australian publications.

I see your Sarah Fielke obsession is as big as mine. ;) I’m working on one of her minis right now to practice appliqué!
