Getting to Know You Update: The Crafty Mummy

I noticed a couple of the girls wrote ‘Getting to Know You’ posts recently so I went back and read the post about me when I became a Contributor here at And Sew We Craft way back in December 2011.

Wow!

I didn’t realise it had been that long ago!

I’ve written 231 posts since then and I love the community that Amy has built here. So I thought I’d go back over some of the questions and give a little update.

What is your favourite craft?

I seem to have done a lot more sewing and quilting lately than crochet, although I have had the CrochetAlong blanket out during the Winter months. I’m still an all-rounder though. I have ideas for all kinds of things and my craft room includes beads, paper, a LOT of fabric, ribbon, yarn and more. It really needs a good clean up.

I mentioned in my original post that I was up for a BIG4 birthday soon. My gift from hubby for that birthday when it arrived was an offer to create a wall of storage with a fold down cutting table in my craft room. Very cool! But I just can’t get my head around how to start planning it so a year or two down the track it still hasn’t started. Sigh. One day…

How do you find the time to fit it in around your family?

When I last wrote my two cherubs were 5 and 7 years old. They are now 8 and 10 so even more able to behave appropriately while I craft a little. But they are also both at school all week so I plan to write and craft - that is, “work” - mostly while they are at school so that I can spend time with them in the afternoons and evenings. (Mind you, as I write this one child is sitting next to me playing on an iPad so I do sometimes work when they are home.)

How long have you been blogging and where can we find you online?

I’ve been blogging for about 5 years now and I still love it. I’m still at The Crafty Mummy and on Facebook and Twitter, but these days you will find me on Pinterest and Google+ a lot too. I now send out the Weekly News each week so that my lovely readers get all the posts from the week in a handy little parcel ready to browse. Find the sign up page here if you’d like to join.
