Where I craft now- Cate

Where-We-Craft- Revisited

Back in February, I shared my craft space. Caitlin and I spent a couple of hours each week during our regular crafting day, and got it sorted. It wasn’t perfect, but it was usable, and I was able to figure out what else I needed in the way of storage units.

aswc-craft-room-tourThis is my craft room at 6am this morning.

Not much has changed. (In all fairness, Douglas left the ironing board out, after ironing his school shirt.)

aswc-tour-1This unit is mostly sorted inside the cubes. I got Steve to cut down my wire paper racks to fit in the space, so paper is sorted, and the drawers store embellishments, stamps, Project Life cards and random junk. But there’s still some stuff that needs to be worked on down the bottom.

aswc-tour-2I can’t even use my writing desk, because of the piles on it - last week’s Spotlight stash, and the YIAH products I ordered from my sister that arrived the next day, before I had room in the cupboard to store it.

aswc-tour-3Even my “everyday use” desk is suffering at the moment, I just pile everything up to the right, until it gets too much to bear, then I find another spot to put it (lately, that spot has been the main work desk.)

The space is still a convenient spot to “put stuff” that needs to be moved out of living areas, and I know that I’m just as guilty of doing that as every other member of the house. The cry “put it in the front room” can be heard every time some creation comes home from school! And while I’m eternally grateful to have a space to create (and save my sanity), I am endlessly frustrated by the constant cleaning. One day I’ll find the balance, but I don’t think that will be until everyone has left home!

What does your work desk look like?
