The Grand Plans kinda worked!

I had lots of plans, many grand plans about sewing my whole wardrobe. In my head I had all these visions of sitting down within a week and having all these work clothes made. I did mention GRAND plans didn’t I? Maybe my eyes were a bit bigger than my abilities or energy!

But I started work and of course I ran out of energy VERY quickly. As many of you probably know changing from doing not much of anything to doing quite a lot makes it very hard to have any energy left over. But I have finally done it. I have ONE finished shirt. It’s the start of an era 😀 I will be making all my clothes … not all at once but to sit there and wear my own clothes makes me feel sooo proud.

I set up about 2 weeks ago at my mother’s using her quilting table to cut out the fabric and gosh it made me so happy. I bought the Akita blouse after the last post and I knew it would look good on me.

Then I spent Saturday sewing up my top.

Gosh doesn’t it look amazing!

My finished top

I’m so proud of myself for following through with this. There are many more to come. This top is one of three at least as that is how many pieces of fabric I bought a couple of weeks back.

You can find the pattern for this online at the seamwork magazine. It’s called the Akita Blouse. It is as easy as it seems.

What have you been sewing this week?

Happy Stitching,

Caitlin

My mother taught me to crochet when I was 9 and I was hooked. Since then I do any craft that tickles my fancy which at the moment includes cross stitch, knitting, crochet, quilting and sewing toys and clothes. I like to always have something to do.
