C2C crochet heart square and pattern

Now I know for a lot of people the words C2C are confusing so I am going to clarify here. It is a form of crochet that is worked corner to corner and can create a graph with a picture. It is a really quick way to work a graph pattern. I learnt how to do this from youtube. I used these two tutorials tutorial 1 and tutorial on decreasing. As long as you know how to do a treble (UK) crochet and a chain you will be able to do this stitch. Try watching a couple of different videos to get an idea what to do.
This was a spur of the moment project. I have been reading about these blankets and patterns made up of squares of c2c and I knew I just had to try it. I didn’t want to start a big project so I started another washcloth. This is such a gratifying project as I know when it’s finished I will use it and use it. My other ones are in constant use as they are so soft on the face.
The yarn I use for my wash cloths is the bendigo woollen mills 8 ply cotton. I’m sure you could use other cotton yarns but this is what I had. I used two colours for the pattern below. A green and a purple but feel free to change up the colours to suit what you have. If you are making a wash cloth please use cottons as being a natural fibre they dry better and cleaner.
I’ve included the pattern I’m using below. I just made it up as I went and if you pay close attention to the piece I’ve done it’s not a perfect square I messed up the count but since it’s a wash cloth I don’t care. If you wanted you could put the heart in the centre I just didn’t want to have to count that perfectly and wasn’t sure how big my end square would be.

Have you tried C2C before?
Do you have any tips or tricks? I love trying new stitches and I think I’m hooked (pardon the pun) on this one. It is one of the quickest cloths I’ve made even considering the picture.
If you try this project please share your pictures as I’d love to see what you’re up to.

I will have to show the finished piece when it finally happens and also I will try and write a tutorial but my days are just getting crazier and something has to give. Unfortunately it seems to be time to write and craft at the moment, though it does make me a big fan of these easy to finish projects.
Happy Stitching,
Caitlin.

This looks like a good first time c2c project for myself to try. Thank-you.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing this pattern. This is my first C2C project. I’m just curious as to why my heart ended up on the left side. Although, It isn’t a big deal. I was just trying to figure out so that when I tackle other projects in the future I’ll know what to do so that my project looks the same as the pattern
