Christmas photos can seem overwhelming when it comes time to recording the memories in your scrapbooks. There are so many things going on in the photos that you don’t want so many details going on the page as well.

A simple layout is a great option to combat this and all you really need are some basic products to showcase the photo. A base, a couple of layers for interest, a title and some journaling. I have two samples to share with you. Both are from Christmas 2010.

PhotobucketMaterials - Echo Park patterned paper, Fancy Pants patterned paper, Echo Park christmas tree sticker, Crate Paper sticker border, October Afternoon journal sticker, D-Lish scraps elf bottle top and star pin, America Crafts Thickers alphas, black paint, black pen.

PhotobucketMaterials - Kraft cardstock, My Minds Eye patterned paper, Echo Park patterned paper, Crate Paper border stickers, Martha Stewart doilie die cut, Purple Pumpkin santa buttton, Sass Lass journal sticker, Echo Park santa sticker, American Crafts Thickers alphas, black pen.

Do Christmas layouts scare you? Or are you just as enthusiastic about them as you are the rest of the year?

Christmas LO’s scare me. But this is usually because I don’t have many christmas pictures. However, I am trying to put a stop to this and fix my issue of not having enough pictures.

I used to take so many photos but now I just take a select few and scrap those. As my children are getting older, I don’t seem to need as many photos and want to just enjoy the moment with them. Great layouts.

Great layouts, Sara. I love how a splash of paint can really say “boy”, and that a Christmas layout doesn’t have to be red and green.

Love your layouts Sara, I think I will have to give scrappy ago after this christmas. I have meant to for such a long time but have always put it in the to hard basket, which is silly really.

    Thanks for sharing x
