{20 MINUTE CRAFTER} Kids Napkins

My 3 year old son isn’t the messiest eater, but he does still use his left hand to assist his fork shoveling food into his mouth. And ironically, he doesn’t like having messy, sticky, dirty hands and is constantly nagging for a wipe. But now? A free, environmentally friendly and quick-to-make solution!

What you will need:
10″ x 10″ print fabric
Thread - contrasting or coordinating, your choice!
A4 cardstock
Ruler with 1/4″ or 0.5mm markings
Pen
Iron or finger presser
Pins

Draw a line along one long edge of your cardstock 1/4″ or 0.5mm in from the edge. We will use this as a pressing guide.

Place your fabric right side down and the cardstock on top. Fold the fabric over the edge to meet the line and press. Repeat for all 4 sides of the fabric.

Repeat again to create a double fold, enclosing the raw edge. Pin as necessary to keep the folds in place.

Topstitch around all edges and you’re done! Yes, you spend more time pressing neatly than you do sewing, but it really helps to keep it all straight and secure.

This is a great way to use up fun and and colourful prints or leftover pieces from a layer cake. I would recommend avoiding prints with lots of white to avoid possible stains, but they’re so quick and easy to make, it would be easy enough to replace.
