I’ve mentioned before that we live in a pretty small house and that my craft bits and pieces are stored in random areas around the house so small craft space storage solutions are always something I’m on the lookout for.
I’ve asked in the past about some small craft space solutions and most people recommend converting a closet/cupboard and building UP to use every available wall space.
Now because we don’t own the house we live in (it’s a house that is leased to us by the company that my husband works for) I can’t go putting holes in walls so I’ve gone down the path of converting a basic Ikea cupboard, well it’s not finished yet but I did share a peek of it in this post. Hopefully I’ll be able to share the completed cupboard VERY soon.
There are many examples of these all over the web and you can find some on them on my craft room pinboard.
But others like Gwen of Gwenny Penny have successfully converted cupboards into craft spaces.
You can find more information and pictures of her craft cupboard/closet here.

Here is an example of an awesome craft cupboard from This Mama Makes Stuff
She has used every available space she has and I LOVE IT!
Or maybe you are lucky enough to have a CORNER of a room ALL TO YOURSELF! Well maybe Jonie’s craft space might provide you with some great inspiration?
I love how Vanessa has utilised this space in her walk in pantry.
Be sure to check out her post here for some out of the box storage and organisation ideas.
Another storage and organisation idea that seems to pop up everywhere is the use of pegboards.
I’ve rounded up a few pegboard ideas below
- This giant pegboard from Ginger Snap Crafts is pretty awesome.
- As is this ‘trash to treasure’ pegboard from Just a Girl and her blog.
- Ros from Sew Delicious has a pretty awesome pegboard, it’s just massive and has so much room for everything you could ever need!
- And Rachel from the Barefoot Crafter has this fab ‘non-handy girl’s guide to a diy pegboard’
So do you have a room to yourself?
Do you craft on the dining table?
Do you have any tips to share?

Crochet Along: How to Change Colours

I’m blessed to have a craft room after many years of crafting in the bedroom closet that holds all of my husband’s and my clothes. Now the kids have moved out I spread out in one of the bedrooms. One thing that I like about my room is that I painted it white so my art would be what stood out. I painted my peg board so it’s no just a useful piece that holds my tools, but also a piece of art. Your room sounds like heaven, Jennie! I’ll have to find it on Pinterest ASAP!
