Two years ago now I whipped up a quilt top rather quickly using a jelly roll of Kate Spain’s Cuzco fabric line and the ‘jelly roll race’ quilt method. Then it promptly got put onto my WIPs pile and forgotten about.
That was until 3 weeks ago when I was thinking of something to give my Mum for her upcoming birthday. I mean, there is nothing quite like leaving handmade gifts to the last-minute.
But I got it done and it actually arrived to her doorstep on her birthday so I’m calling that a win.
I just did some meandering quilting, it’s about the only quilting I’m comfortable doing when gifting quilts, well that and straight line quilting. And it was just backed in a grey fabric and the binding is a scrappy binding with fabric from same fabric line.
I’m pretty happy with my mitred corners on this quilt as the last corners on down on my Christmas Tree Mini Quilt were woeful!
And now it’s time to get the teacher gifts and Christmas presents done!
