{Crafter Interview} Pat D

Today we are chatting with Pat, she is a 56 year old crafter from Geelong. Thank you Pat for answering my questions x

When did you start crafting?

I have always loved sewing but never been terribly good at it.About 6 years ago I decided I would like to make a quilt with some of my husbands cars on it for him.
Of course I didn’t have a clue where to start. I looked up a few things on google and asked some questions at the local patchwork shop, and so began my love of quilting.

If you could only pick one craft to do for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I actually like to do different things such as toys clothes quilts and many other things.

What is the main source of inspiration?

My family and friends are definitely my inspiration.
What is the best advice someone gave you about crafting?
The best advice I have been given is not to stress over it too much.

What tips would you give a beginner?

The best advice I could give is have a go if it doesn’t work then it will teach you something at least.
My advice is one step at a time

What is your must have crafting tool?

Apart from my sewing machine I don’t really have a favorite tool but I must say that thing you mentioned for turning straps the right way sounds like something I would like to have.
Where do you craft? Dining table, own dedicated craft space?

I am lucky enough that I am old enough that my kids have all moved out so I have my own craft room but I think that is why I got into it so late.

How many WIPs do you have on the go right now?

I have about 4 projects on the go atm
What would be on your crafty bucket list

I would love a long arm quilting machine
And I would love to go on a quilting cruise.
Do you listen to music when you craft?

I definitely listen to music while I am working
Tea or Coffee – which do you prefer?

Tea
Favourite TV show?

Probably mkr is my favourite tv show all though it is definitely slipping in the ranks
What non-crafting related item can’t you live without? Why?

Without my car it would be a bit difficult to get my crafting supplies.

Thanks for sharing Pat!
