{Review & Giveaway) Itty Bitty Crocheted Critters

Itty Bitty Corcheted Critters

I was recently sent a stack of craft books to review and one such book was Itty Bitty Crocheted Critters by Erin Clark.

Now I am only reasonably new to crochet. I mean I HAVE been trying for years, but I’ve only just gotten the hang of it recently and something I’ve always wanted to try was some amigurumi and well this book might just make me do it.

Not only is it filled with some super cute patterns, but it also has some great step by step instructions with some very clear pictures on simple crochet stitches but also increasing/decreasing etc.

  1. My daughter bought a learn-to-crochet book and we both bought a crochet hook…. that was about 5 years ago. These are so cute and I’m sure my grandkids would love them.

  2. I have crocheted since I was young, my grandma taught me. When my girls and nieces were young, I crocheted them all kinds of Barbie clothes. I have never seen crochet with embroidery floss…great idea. My grandkids would love some of these animals.

  3. I learnt when I was young but wouldn’t know where to start now. I would love to learn again.

I started crocheting wash cloths last year when we had a yarn shop in town. Just when I was getting the hang of it they went out of business. I drove 30 mines away every Saturday for several months to a class to learn more. I mastered scarves, hats, finger puppets, a purse and am in the process of putting together a miniature schnauzer. I have a lot more to learn but I love doing it.

  5. First project I ever crocheted was a best for my DD 3 years ago (& a matching one for her doll). It was a success but life got busy & haven’t had a chance to do more. Am desperate to squeeze crafting back into my life & crochet is something I want to explore more :-)

  6. I taught myself to crochet when I was 18 to make an afghan for my boyfriend’s parents for Christmas. Since then I have Made many diffenrt things and have changed what I like to make with the different phases of my life. I’m into the grandma phase now making fun things for my grand babies. Little animals and fun things are my favorite at this time. This book looks like great fun.

  7. My paternal grandmother taught me to crochet. She said you know you did it right if it comes apart easily! Boy is that ever true! My current pet project is glass cozies. My first project was a doll afghan for my baby sister.

I have been crocheting since I was an little girl. I made stuffed toys especially clowns with different colors for different parts of the body. I also made afghans, granny smith vest (from the 70s), angels, pins, clothes. Would love to try this book.

I learned how to crochet as a teenager and still it enjoy it many years later!

  11. I started to learn to crochet last year with my 9 year old daughter. She loves anything little and cute - so rather than her buying little cute critters I though we could learn to crochet and eventually make cute amigurumi ourselves! We’ve made a few, but still need lots of practice, and plenty more patterns and ideas to make little cute things with!

I am self taught as of about 3 years ago. I have 2 little girls under the age of 3. I started making them blankets while I was pregnant with them! They love my little crocheted flowers. I would love to make them some little friends for their zoo!

I’ve been doing crochet for a while, but I never feel like doing it in the summer, it makes me feel hotter! The little critters look really cute.

  16. I crochet every day if I can! Love yarn, love color and texture. Haven’t tried Amigurumi YET but have about 100 pins on a Pinterest board.

  19. I learned to crochet from my mom, but didn’t take it seriously at that time. Became a army wife and had to do something with my hands, crocheting helped! haven’t stopped since.

  20. Crochet is in my blood, my grandmother was a fantastic crocheter but she never taught me. I have always knitted and have wanted to learn to crochet for a very long time. So at the beginning of this year I took the plunge and taught myself to crochet using You Tube instructional videos.
At the moment I am trying to make miniature cacti for terrariums, it is proving to be a challenge as I seem to have big clunky fingers that have a mind of their own!

  21. I’ve wanted to learn to crochet for a while now. It just looks so cool!!

    This book looks so cute.
    Than you for the give-away!

My mother-in-law taught me to crochet ten years ago. Sadly she passed away this year and I am so glad that her legacy lives on every time I make something. I am the only one she taught out of her own two children and five grandchildren. I was the only one interested. Craft was our special shared interest and I miss her every time I need someone’s opinion on a pattern or colours. She would have loved this book!

  24. Tiffany DeOs says:

I learned to crochet when I was in junior high from a book my mom had. I tend to knit more than crochet but I can do it and use it for certain applications. I also help teach it to our local homeschooled junior high students.
